OSTEOARTHRITIS
Osteoarthritis is a degenerative condition of joint. It is non-inflammatory process. It is characterized by progressive destruction of new bone i.e.osteophytes. It is also known as degenerative arthritis or osteoarthritis or hypertrophic arthritis. It is a wear and tear of joint as one ages. It is more common in weight - bearing joints such as hip and knee. There is also a progression of synovial and capsular thickening and joint effusion seen in spine and hands.
